Dar am taieb
This museum celebrates the artistic life of one man-- the artist Taieb Ben Hadi Ahmed. He built a rambling family home and filled it with his collections and art. His collections are hard to describe -- chairs, clocks, army helmets, animal skulls, fishing poles, something different everywhere you look-- and are artfully stuck on ceilings, walls, tables, shelves throughout the multilevel dwelling.
His plans included an artist's colony, so it is a big, sprawling place. Am Taieb passed away earlier this year, so his family is keeping the museum going while deciding what to do with his legacy.
This is a project worth supporting.
